If you know me at all, then you know that one of my passions is connecting with people. In fact, one of the stated purposes of this blog is to highlight local Chicago people and businesses doing great work in the Internet marketing space.
With that in mind, I present to you Kathy Steele who is a managing partner and co-founder of Desert Rose Design. I stumbled across Kathy on twitter several months ago and noticed her suburban Chicago location (Snap Twitter Tip – PLEASE to be sure to include your location your twitter bio). Because we were located nearby one another, and because we had similar interests, Kathy and I agreed to get together at some point in the future.
About a month later, Kathy and I sat down have lunch with Lisa Diomede in downtown Glen Ellyn, IL. The three of us hit it off immediately. We talked strategy, marketing, branding, design, web development, application design, public speaking, and a whole host of other topics. I won’t speak for Lisa, but I fell in love immediately.
If you spend any time at all around Kathy, you’ll realize she’s a bit of an old soul. She carries about her at all times an air of wisdom and focus. She comes to the business from the design side of the house, and has (in conjunction with Desert Rose Design co-founder Helen Levinson) built a very successful business from the ground up.
This past week, Kathy reached out an invited me to the Executives Breakfast Club, a breakfast meeting where executives from local Chicago business gather to discus leadership topics and to network. In fact, I got up at 4:30 AM this morning to ensure I was at the event, because with Kathy involved, I knew it would be spectacular (and it WAS)! I’m so grateful to have met Kathy and I look forward to meeting even more of the Desert Rose Design team in the future.
For all of these reasons and more, Kathy Steele is my follow Friday recommendation for today. Also be sure to bookmark Desert Rose Designs website and keep in mind in the event you have a need for local branding, design, or application development needs.
